Located in the town of Blainville-sur-Mer on the west coast of the Contentin, this ecofriendly gite sleeping four people (one bedroom and a sofabed in the sitting room) is only a couple of miles away from the sea which can be easily accessed by bicycle, of which there are 2 available for the use of guests.
The house is south-facing and includes a wooden terrace with bbq and seating area perfect for relaxing summer evenings.
As unlikely as it may seem, Denis and Celine Letan's gite is entirely based on a timber frame (Douglas Fir) containing straw, earth and lime as insulation, topped with natural plasters all hidden under a beautiful green lawn roof.
This environmentally friendly gite boasts a lawn roof, a rainwater recovery system for the toilets and washing laundry, a water purification filter for drinking and cooking, biotic electricity supply and solid pine floors to name but a few.
Baskets of organic vegetables and fruits, some of which come from the garden are available and the owners are happy to share their knowledge of the region.
It is within easy reach of all the attractions of the Manche region with its golf, beaches, water sports, horse riding, country walks, not to mention the regions's famous "parc des Marais du Cotentin and Bessin" only 20km away, the Bay of Mont Saint Michel 40 km away and the Landing Beaches 50km away.
The cottage is accessible to people with disabilities and carries the french accreditation "Tourisme et Handicap".
