Local tourist boards in France are slowly getting around to presenting interactive holiday information to the smartphone generation.
The latest region to get involved is Champagne-Ardenne, which has just announced the launch of it free app for iPhone, iPad and Android users.
As you would expect from a region known for its sophistication - only fizzy wine made in these parts can legally be called Champagne, of course – the app is stylish and packed with great ideas for visiting. As well as guides to exploring the main towns such as Epernay and Charleville-Mézières, there are more quirky articles on things like how to make beer, where to go for the best spa treatments or to buy crystal glasses.
And for anyone keen on shopping, there is a guide to the factory outlets dotted around the region, where people flock to snap up retail bargains.
In short, as inspiration for your next French holiday, the Champagne-Ardenne app is certainly worth downloading.
