The Midi-Pyrénées is such a huge region that there is always something going on – at any time of the year – to appeal to you, no matter what your cultural leaning or French holiday preference.
It's a very musical corner of France, so from the festival of Jazz in Marciac during early August to Toulouse's world famous Organ Festival (Toulouse les Orgues) there is something to float your particular musical boat. Also on a classical note, the Jacobins Piano Festival that runs through September sees top-notch players wowing audiences in the magical cloister of the city’s Jacobins church.
Outside of the city, why not head to St Bertrand de Comminges at the foot of the Pyrénées for the annual Festival of Comminges. Taking placer in various venues including the famous cathedral, this is a high quality series of concerts featuring chamber, baroque and romantic period music.
Or how about something a little more contemporary? The electronic music celebration Les Siestes Electroniques sees free concerts held in a bucolic setting beside the Garonne River in June.
