Brits heading off on French holidays this year should consider visiting the diverse festivals it has to offer, to make their trip a bit different.
For those beating the summer rush and jetting off slightly earlier, the Orpheus and Bacchus Easter Festival might be a great option. Boasting fine wines and the very best in classical music, the festival promises to be a hit with wine gourmets and musical aficionados alike.
The event will take place within the grounds of a stunning 18th-century estate, entitled Domaine le Faure; set amongst the legendary wine-making region of St Emilion.
A few of Europe's most skilled and experienced classical musicians will perform, with whom attendees can dine with after each performance. According to OrpheusandBacchus.com, classics such as Schumann's 'Fantasy' and Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' are on the programme; making it a real treat for music lovers.
Furthermore, the event plays host to a number of day trips to local wineries - perfect for soaking up the Gallic sun.
Fellow wine lovers looking to venture to France a little later in the year could head to the Bordeaux Wine Festival, World Travel Guide suggested.
This fruity event lasts for four days, and includes a range of wine tastings, vineyard tours, wine barrel races and a celebratory parade.
Most of the activities are provided free of charge, and with its June date set, attendees can expect to soak up some serious rays whilst indulging in their favourite tipples.
