For many searching for luxury villas, France is the place they start looking; however it is thought this year, more than ever, UK holiday-goers will be searching for the best value possible in their holiday accommodation.
That's according to travel expert, Bob Atkinson from TravelSupermarket.com, who said: "It appears when it comes to luxuries, holidays are one thing Brits simply aren't prepared to give up."
"In order to get away however, a whopping three-quarters of Brits will be looking for deals and best value as their key determining factor when booking a holiday. Pre-holiday research is the best way to get extra value for money."
It is thought last year, Brits spent around £1,014 per person on their annual getaways, but this year will spend something in the region of £829 per head. However when asked, only 11 per cent of UK residents said they were considering not booking anything for the coming 12 months.
This means the majority have either gone ahead and booked a trip, or will do so in the next few weeks and months.
Atkinson added on CostadelVillas: "Do loads of online research, speak to your high street agent, use guidebooks, whatever it might be. Do loads of research when you are planning your holiday so that you get it clear in your head what it is you're looking for and what it is you're not looking for."
