The research was carried out by the organisers of The France Show 2011, who questioned 1000 adults examining various components of a holiday. These included the quality of accommodation, the food, the length of travel to the destination, the weather, duration of the stay, travelling companions and costs.
Whilst the popularity of staycations - where you holiday within your home country - has increased recently, as reported by Female First the study showed that French holidays were favoured most by people from the UK who felt they were most likely to experience a happy holiday there.
As many as 16 million people in Britain enjoy visiting France so much, that they wish they could fluently speak French, Female First reports. France offers holiday makers a range of holiday types, those that want to ski can visit the French Alps, whilst those looking for a romantic city break can explore the wonders of Paris and take in all the sights.
According to Report Linker, it's not just Briton's that love taking a trip to France; the country has at least 75 million inbound tourists each year making it the most visited country in the world.
