French Travel News 2012 | Nice set for carnival fever
The spectacular annual carnival in Nice is fast approaching and provides a great opportunity to visit the Riviera in winter for a touch of off-season French holidays warmth, not to mention a fabulous party atmosphere.
Widely regarded as the best carnival in Europe, it starts on the evening of 17th February and continues until 4th March, with events on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The 2012 theme is Roi du Sport (King of Sport).
The carnival processions, comprising 20 floats, work their way up to a big finale of huge decorations on Place Massena.
