Description
La Vielle Longere Gite:
Our beautiful, traditional Breton longere provides the ideal holiday for adult couples or groups of friends wanting to relax and get away from the busy pace of everyday life.
This is an exceptionally tranquil location with far reaching open views – enjoy bird watching, sunsets and star gazing.
The entrance is through a wide arched Breton doorway into dual height hall featuring exposed beams.
The open plan, sunny kitchen is well equipped for year round rentals.
There is a spacious dual aspect living room with comfy sofas, woodburner and dining suite for six.
The television has UK free-to-air channels, there is also a DVD/CD player, well stocked bookcase, traditional board-games and a large collection of local maps and information provided for guests.
French doors open directly onto the barbecue terrace with hardwood outdoor furniture, flower and herb planters and an open grassed paddock beyond.
There is a pretty downstairs double bedroom with French doors to terrace, adjacent shower-room, ideal for guests wishing to avoid stairs.
The ground floor accommodation is available for couples to rent as a one bedroom apartment - our prices are reduced by £125 per week for these bookings.
For larger groups there are two upstairs bedrooms. Both have exposed beams, one is a double, the other a twin, each with ensuite shower-rooms. All the bedrooms have plenty of storage space, mirrors and chairs.
The property is fully renovated, with original features restored, and contemporary comforts added, including modern wiring and plumbing, efficient panel heaters and good insulation.
It is just a short walk downhill to the River Lie, with Loudeac Forest on its opposite bank.
Plessala village is 3km away with is weekly market, shops, bars, creperie, minigolf, tennis, boules, lake. There are several good restaurants within 10 minutes drive.
Try trout fishing or kayaking on the river, walk or cycle along the many marked circular trails around Plessala, or pony trekking which is available in the forest.
The golf in Lamballe is only 25km away with more courses along beautiful north coast.
Water sports, boating, canoeing and water skiing are nearby on 2 large inland lakes.
This is an excellent touring base for Brittany - with standing stones, wonderful beaches, historic cities and the Nantes to Brest canal all within easy driving distance.
